Gecko Decko to join us this Sunday

Ever popular, Angela and her wall hangings will join us at the market this Sunday. She has a choice of geckos, sea creatures and jungle creatures just to name a few. Our absolute fave is the moo cow.

New market time 12pm to 4pm

Being the first Sunday of the month, this Sunday is market day. The new market time is 12pm to 4pm as the days are getting shorter. Willi markets tend to be busier in Winter, go figure. Looking forward to One Market on Sunday!

Drum roll for the May market pictures...

May marks the fourth market! And what a flourishing market it was. The beautiful waterfront Williamstown came to life as the colourful Carpets for Communities set up their stall of lush carpets made from -get this- recycled clothing. The proceeds from the carpets go to mums in Cambodia to help take care of their loved ones. Read all about CfC at www.carpetsforcommunities.org.

The talented drummers lead by Ray Pereira joined us at 1pm, bringing the uptempo sounds of Africa to stallholders and visitors who all stopped in their tracks for a bit of a boogy. Ray teaches drumming across Melbourne. Visit http://www.raypereira.com/african-drum-class.html for more details.

Jade Lam of Learning Ladder holds a competition to win a bundle of children's books. Guess how many building blocks are in the jar. Stay tuned to Jade's website to see if you are the lucky winner.

You just have to love the Ughetti's for their crafted pendants. Such a loving talented couple that always brings joy to the market.

The Easter Market

Roadside in picturesque Williamstown on a sunny day, might it be mentioned, with truly talented and oh so friendly stallholders and market go-ers. What a perfect way to spend an Easter weekend! Good things come in threes must be true, with perfect blue skies all day long.

Gary Moore showed his bent stick collection for the second time in a row. The oohs and the ahhs from mums, grandmas and the littlies were heard from miles away. The One Market team is getting a little clucky just thinking of the story book toys. Visit Gary's work at www.bentsticks.com.au.

Mel Sharp joined the show with her uniquely handcrafted cards. With Mother's Day just around the corner, Mel has dished up some beautiful creations for mum. Those that picked up a card are sure to be the favourite offspring this year!

Thank you to all that participated. We had a lovely day and hope you did too.

Weathering the Storm...

J's Taikayaki

iggle & boo (www.iggleandboo.com.au)

The One Market team was moved by the passion displayed from stallholders at their 2nd market held at Holy Trinity Church in Williamstown over the labour day weekend.

Scattered showers played hide and seek in the morning with One Market organizers and stallholders but those who braved the early rain were rewarded with blue skies and sunshine in the afternoon. Many were delighted with J’s Taikayaki, a husband and wife team who brought bite size Japanese pancakes of sweet and savory fillings to the people of Williamstown. No sweet tooth was left unsatisifed.

Both young and old were excited by the personally selected products found at One Market. From local Williamtown fashionistas who were frilled with the vintage dresses found at Vintage Threads “it’s difficult to find such awesome vintage stuff in this area, I’m so definitely coming back“ to passer-bys who were mesmerised and charmed by Lynne Kelly of Chandelles D’Amour Candles. Gary from Bentsticks is a Hobsons Bay resident who makes whimsical story book toys from hand picked recycled wood. Gary will be back in May. He says "It's a great little market". With a successful day at the market Lynne Kelly comments "Thank you for organizing such a great day. It is easy to see that this market will take off well. The location is ideal as it is situated on a main road where people travel, so is a great opportunity".

Iggle & boo were one of the many stallholders who embraced the weather on the weekend. iggle & boo are setting the pace with their sophisticated children’s clothing range. The range includes classy designs & classic colours that are fun to wear everyday. Designed and made in Australia, the iggle & boo collection is tailored for boys and girls aged 6 months to 5 years. Designer kids clothing – hoodies, long sleeve t-shirts, jeans, dresses, t-shirts, baby rompers, blankets & accessories. iggle & boo - always movin’, always groovin’.

Holy Trinity Church must truly be a special place. It was only as the market drew to an end that the anticipated thunder storms made its appearance.

If it is said good things come in threes, then we can expect the next market on Easter Saturday to be an absolute winner! What better a way to spend another long weekend than to take a stroll along Nelson Place, taking in the fresh air, the views of the seaside town and of course One Market!

J's Donut

Oooooooo.... the One Market team is looking forward to eating one of these traditional Japanese donuts. Japanese local delicacies "Taikoyaki" also known as "Red Bean Cake" is very much like a baked crisp pastry (or pancake) with red bean filling. And now with many other fillings like cheese, chocolate and cream.

Pepe 4 Malcolm

And this is why organising One Market is so rewarding. A sneak peek at unique creations and providing a platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their wares. The Pepe 4 Malcolm's range are sustainable designs, which look at the re-manufacturing of existing products. These products aim to inspire people to reconsider their relationship with waste and recycling habits. The current range in production are shelving units made from second-hand 50s and 60s hardback books. All products are made and sourced locally.

Sarah Made Me

Home made jams with exotic fruits such as Jamaican Tangelo, and flavoured jams such as plum with cinnamon etc. The fruit used is organic and all grown in Footscray. These jams are hand filled in gorgeous hexagonal jars labelled with Sarah's business name and with various poems, famous quotes or proverbs on the back to read as you have breakfast.

Paris Cheek Accessories

Kat of Paris Cheek Accessories will join us with her hand made vintage and rockabilly inspired hair clips, combs and hair flowers. Her hand made bows are just delectable.

Bake Me I'm Yours

Nicole from Bake Me I'm Yours is a newby to the market. She's however been baking cakes since the age of 10. You can see Nicole's love for the art of cupcakes in every little treasure she makes.
The Girls were a hit last time and they are back again in March. Try all five flavours for a visionary and flavour adventure.

Lu Cox's travel photography. Back by popular demand.

The market goers just loved Lu Cox's travel photography. So much so that Lu will be back in March by popular demand. Lu shares her travel experiences with us through the lens of her camera. She captures the essence of each destination, transporting us across the world.

Sally Sutton and her beautiful Tussie Mussie's will woo us again

We're sure you remember Sally Sutton's Tussie Mussies that stole the show in December. They are a devine arrangement of flowers with a granny smith apple in the midst. We all fell in love. Looking forward to working with Sally as she's become a permanent stallholder.
